“Brad—Shop Foreman, and Sean—Machinist Apprentice, speak about their experiences and how much they appreciate working with the AccuTech team.”

Brad

“People are great here. Everybody’s nice and laid back. Relaxed bosses are excellent. They do push you when you need to be pushed.”

Sean

“All the guys here are really great. They’re easy to get along with. The boss is super easy to get along with too.”

Brad

“It’s a small family-owned business, so it’s a fairly relaxed environment. It’s not like the big production facilities where you’re kind of just a number working there.”

Sean

“So I went to college in Loyalist, took a one year course. I was working at Home Depot during that time and actually had a customer come into Home Depot and tell me to come apply here. So that’s where I started. Ever since then, it’s been a great ride.”

Brad

“Accutech is a great place for a machinist to work because of the experience you would gain working here. Everything from running the saw, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, lathes, mills, manual lathes and mills. We have a wire EDM to learn on. Various CMMs to operate—4-axis, 5-axis mills. And we continue to expand year after year.”

Sean

“We have a lot of brand-new machines out there that are really easy to work with—they’re FANUC controls. So if you’re familiar with that and they’re really simple to work on.”

“There’s lots of opportunities if you wanted, in future, to branch off into other sections of machining. So there’s a lot of tool and die and more precise things. The pay is really great too.”

Brad

“For somebody thinking about working here, a lot of opportunity to learn various parts of the machinist trade, everything from programing, running, machine setting up machines, inspections, heat treating.”

Sean

“I guess if you’re looking for a career path to get into, you don’t know really know what you’re doing, but you want to work with your hands… it’s a great place to start.”

“And if you know that you want to work in some sort of trade, then this is definitely the trade for you.”
